Lonavala Skywalk

Lonavala is a popular hill station situated on the Mumbai-Pune Highway. It is a place of major tourist attraction and a large number of tourists from Mumbai, Pune and all over the other distant places. It is well-connected by Road, Rail , Air and people visit Lonawala throughout the year.

Lion point and Tiger point are the major spots of tourist attraction. However, despite the high potential and increasing number of visitors, some basic facilities, amenities and infrastructures such as wide roads, adequate & uninterupted water & electricity supply, toilets, waste disposal, recreation, safety etc. Are lacking in surrounding areas and tourist spots. It is an urgent need to address these basic issues to promote tourism in these areas therby generating livelihood opportunities and overall development of the surrounding areas.

It was decided to widen the existing road from Bhushi dam to the existing tourist places Lions and Tiger point and develop the adjoining areas of Lion Point and Tiger Point and construct a glass skywalk at Tiger Point in the meeting conducted by Hon. Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister for Pune District on 21st September 2023. It was decided to execute this project on a top priority basis. A high power committee of the State Government is monitoring the progress of this project.

  • Lion Tiger Point Site:- Road Length 1.00 KM & 45.00 m wide which includes 11.00 m Wide Elevated Free Way for vehicle moving towards Mulshi and Lonavala. 8.50 m wide Service Road on both side for Vehicles. 6.50 m wide Foot Path on both side.2.00 m wide planter bed on both side.
