Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)

Construction of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) building at the Hon’ble District & Sessions Court, Pune.

Background

For the implementation of the Man-Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar Metro Line-3 project, a concession agreement was signed between the Authority and Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL) on September 21, 2019.

As per the agreement, a total area of 3,410.19 Sqm from land parcels No. 776 and 891 in the court premises was required for the running section, staircase and metro station.

As per the final land acquisition proposal:

• 1,150.66 Sqm (permanent) was required for the staircase and station
• 101.41 Sqm (temporary) was required for metro pillar foundations

On April 12, 2023, the Hon’ble Court provided the temporary land (101.41 Sqm) to the Authority and the work is in progress. Additionally, for the permanent land (1,150.66 Sqm), an agreement was signed on January 11, 2024, between the District Court and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) as per the guidelines of the Hon’ble High Court Building Committee, Mumbai. In exchange for the land, the Authority will construct the POCSO (G+4) building and carry out beautification of the court premises.
