Maan Hinjawadi Shivajinagar Metro Line
- The Maharashtra government approved the project in February 2018.
- It was declared as the Vital Important Urban Transport Project on July 18, 2018.
- The foundation stone was laid by the honorable prime minister on December 8, 2018.
- The concession agreement was signed on September 21, 2019.
- The estimated cost of additional works (such as flyovers, utility relocation, land acquisition and tree cutting) is ₹1,200 crore, which will be borne by PMRDA.
- The Central Government’s Empowered Committee, in its November 8, 2021 meeting, recommended providing up to 20% financial support for the project.
- A tripartite agreement was signed between PMRDA, PITCMRL and SBI on May 27, 2022.
- Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has undertaken the Mann-Hinjewadi-Shivaji Nagar Pune Metro Line-3 under the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system with government approval.
- The total length of this metro corridor is 23.203 km, with 23 stations along the route.
- This is the first metro project in India to be developed under the 2017 Metro Rail Policy through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model.
- The project has been awarded to Trill Urban Transport Pvt. Ltd. and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH under a joint venture.
- A special purpose vehicle (SPV) named Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited has been established to execute this project.
